My Goals For 2007 - What are yours?

1. Grow my internet-related earnings to at least $273.98 per day. (Does not include my wife’s business.) To achieve this, I intend to grow our network of blogs, launch several Ruby on Rails-based web services I have been working on (and using myself), and launch 26 affiliate sites by the end of 2007.

2. Get my PPC certifications. I have done much of the training for my Google Adwords certification, and I’d like to finish up and get that and my Yahoo search marketing certification as well.

3. Do more for others. We recently gave a shopping cart full of toys to Toys For Tots - and it felt great. I would like to do more for others, and intend to donate more time and money to help others that are less fortunate than I am.

4. Be more positive, and take more time out to enjoy life, friends, and family. My wife and I are both very fortunate in that we work for ourselves and have been able to for nearly 18 months now. But it is so easy to get wrapped up in silly things that cause us to focus on negative emotions and miss out on the big picture. Often I find that I put a negative spin on things for no reason other than that is what I am used to doing. Life is such a precious thing but I find that most people, including myself, often take it for granted. I want to appreciate every moment as it passes, because time does not stand still for anyone. I wrote a note to myself that I look at often. It says: “Enjoy this moment as it passes, because you will never get to live it again.”

5. Release an open source project. I find programming to be fun, and since I use a lot of open source software I would really like to give something back and have fun in the process.

6. Stop drinking soda. After watching a disturbing film about Nutrasweet and how it got approved by the FDA (read my post Diet Coke Class Action Lawsuit on the Horizon?), I stopped consuming Nutrasweet on May 26, 2006. What I found was that I ended up just drinking sugary sodas instead, like Mountain Dew or root beer, which did not contain Nutrasweet but were unhealthy for other reasons. So one of my goals for the year is to stop drinking soda and to drink more water instead.

IMO your goal 3 4 and 5 should be more clearly defined. Quanitifiable and a definite measure of success or failure. It is good that you have this outlined though.
