I remember an example my stats professor used. He charted average earnings for workers between 0 and 35. As you'd expect, the trend was upward. He then extended that trend to estimate that we would earn $1 million per year by the time we were 200 years old. "Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future performance!" Great post.
