Book Your Flights Now

I was speaking with a friend last night when she remarked they had purchased all of their plane tickets last week. And she felt fortunate she got their tickets at a good price.

It was my call to action.

If you plan on taking a trip anytime soon and have not booked your flights yet, I strongly recommend you do so as soon as possible.

SFGate.com is reporting that the price of jet fuel has risen about 50% this year. And it is up more than 20% since last week.

Many airlines add a fuel surcharge to ticket prices. And since fuel prices may rise beyond anyone’s expectations in the coming weeks, it could become very pricey to fly as airlines pass their costs to consumers.

While no airline has announced a fare hike just yet, some foreign carriers already have.

Price increases by U.S. airlines are all but inevitable, said Henry Harteveldt, chief analyst in the San Francisco office of Forrester Research. “Fares have to go up, and rightly so,” he said. “Any time the cost of delivering a product goes up, the price has to go up as well.”
